Guidelines for Competition
You are required to attend the opening ceremonies on April 24. Registration begins at 8am.
On April 25 from 8:30am to 11:30am, finalists will get a chance to present their AJRC entries to our esteemed panel of judges. There will be only one winner per category:

Best Investigative Report (IR)
-
Best Journalism Studies Research (Academic) Paper (JS)
-
Best Special Project (SP)
Each presenter will be allowed only 10 minutes to present and five (5) minutes to answer judges questions. Please note the following guidelines:
To be submitted on or before March 30.

Presenters for all categories are required to submit a 30-word short-bio about each author. Please indicate your school, year and course.

Shortened abstract, maximum of 250 words

Digital photo of authors (half body shot), file name should be author’s name, jpeg format.
To be submitted on or before April 7.

Presenters can choose one of two options for submission:

A 7-page executive summary of their IR that includes:

Background of the report
-
Investigative hypothesis
-
Objectives
-
Framework and Methodology
-
Findings
-
IR in news story format (full paper)

FOR JS RESEARCH:
Presenters for the research category are required to submit a 7-page executive summary that includes:

Background of the research

Research Questions and Objectives of research

Significance of the Study
-
Framework and Methodology
-
Main Findings

FOR SPECIAL PROJECTS:
Presenters for this category are required to submit their videos or features on or before the above deadline via Google docs for features. Videos should be uploaded on YouTube and link sent to the Secretariat.
